RECERTIFICATION REGISTRATION INFORMATION
To register for an ERA Recertification course, please follow these steps:
1. Log into your Cogent Steps Learner Account with a completed ERA course or an approved equivalent course.* You may register for the ERA Recertification Course beginning six months prior to the expiration of your current ERA certification. For example, if you completed your ERA course on 11/28/2023, you will be eligible to register for recertification after 5/28/2026. You should begin the recertification process while your ERA certification is still current. However, a two-month grace period following your certification expiration date is permitted for enrollment in the ERA Recertification Course.
2. Navigate to Purchase History on your account page.
3. Confirm that you are logged into an account that shows an ERA course purchased/attended within the past three years. If you cannot locate it, please try a different email address or contact us for further assistance to identify the appropriate account.
4. Navigate to the ERA Recert Registration Calendar to register (you will be directed to select an “immersive topic” when registering. View your topic choices.
5. Proceed through the checkout process to provide your attendee information, billing details, and payment method. Once you register and pay for a course, you MUST complete the ERA Recertification online training module (accessible under Online Training in your My Learner Account) BEFORE attending your in-person or virtual course. (Virtual students will need a Sports Venue Emergency Response Kit (SVERK) or the listed supplies to complete the online labs.)
6. Your certificate of completion will be available in your Leaner Account after you finish the coursework, are marked as present for the virtual or in-person course, and complete the post-course survey.
*PREVIOUS CERTIFICATION VERIFICATION
The ABPTS and Sports Council permit approved providers to accept equivalent coursework from one another to allow maintenance of your sports specialty certification. Click here to learn how to verify your previous certification.
TRANSFERS, CANCELLATIONS, AND REFUNDS POLICY
Transfer requests for course registration received not later than 14 days before the course is scheduled to begin will be honored at no cost provided the gaining course has capacity. Cancellation requests for course registration received not later than 14 days before the course is scheduled to begin will receive a full refund minus a $65 administrative fee. CPR cancellations will receive a full refund minus a $15.00 administrative fee. Refunds will be processed within 3-5 business days from the day the request is received.
There will be no refunds for no-shows or cancellations after 14 days before the course is scheduled to begin. After two transfers, ERA registrations are no longer eligible for refund. Cancellation requests must be emailed to mlweinstein@cogentsteps.net.
